Japan – Then and Now

It’s been just over six months since Japan faced the devastating earthquake and tsunami and while this event has faded from the front pages of our newspapers, there are people who stare this reality in the face every single day.  I came across a slideshow this week and it shows photos of many damaged areas right after the tragedy.  If you click on the pictures, it will show what that exact spot looks like today.  There are still plenty of areas that lie in ruins but hope can be seen in how they’re starting to bounce back.  I especially liked seeing where the grass had started to regrow.  If you’re interested, check out the below link for yourself to see how far a nation can come in just half a year.  Obviously the work isn’t over yet and many things (and most people) will never, ever be the same but this is definitely a start in the right direction.

Before and After
